The Freedom of Information Act requires that all town commission and board meetings be public. The schedule for a board’s regular meetings must be filed each year with the town clerk. Special meetings may be called up to 24 hours in advance. Emergency meetings may be held without notice; however, the board must file its minutes — including the reason for the emergency — at the town clerk’s office within 72 hours of the meeting. Meetings are posted in the town clerk’s office, Town Hall. Meeting schedules can also be found at the town’s Web site.
